Pensacola Ghosts & Graveyards

Looking to hear some frighteningly good tales about Pensacola hauntings? Look no further than GoRetro's Ghosts and Graveyards tour...

The Pensacola Ghosts and Graveyards tour hosted by GoRetro takes you on a fascinating ride around some of Pensacola's most intriguing haunted houses and buildings.

The tour begins at the GoRetro building in Pensacola, where you find a seat on the bus and begin your tour. When I signed up for the tour, I mistakenly thought it was a walking tour, so the bus took me by surprise. Once on the bus, your guide introduces themselves, and then a video on a TV at the front of bus begins the play. Your host is an eccentric preacher by day and tour guide by night, so prepare yourself for some corny, but holy, lines of dialogue tossed in.

As the video plays and the bus gets started, you learn about different types of hauntings and movies that portrayed these hauntings. Movie buffs, this is your time to shine!

The bus stops at several sights around Pensacola as well as a graveyard. It makes sense as you go along why this would make for a very long walking tour. Some of the sights that you will see and learn about include...

The First United Methodist Church Youth Ministries Building.

This building used to be the Fisher-Pou Funeral home until 2000 when it was purchased by the church and converted into their youth building. In fact, many of the First United Methodist Church buildings seem to have some sort of haunted history associated with them. Coincidence? Maybe. Or perhaps the history of being of a funeral home has a lot to do with the hauntings.

Pensacola's version of the house from Gone With the Wind.

This house boasts what seems to be a residual haunting of a girl named Annie, who appears to stare at nothing, oblivious to those around her. She then disappears harmlessly into the wall without any interruption.

Even if you don't believe in spirits, the house is still a beautiful sight to see and it is easy to see the inspiration behind its design.

The tour includes many, many more sights to see and tales to hear and I don't want to spoil it for you. Go ahead and a book a seat for yourself! It's definitely worth the price.
